My Leviathan

My leviathan, I saw your eye in the deeps.
Filtered sunlight, more twilight,
still your eye shone clearly to me.
I felt your pings, received your call
from a great distance.
Deeply held within
secure, mysteries lie there
the biggest is this affection.

My Moby it's been a long time.
Harpoons have scared your hide.
We two in this subterranean world.
A retreat we float quiet,
all else lacks consequence here.
Healing is what you look for, I know,
respite and rest for your soul.
How many fathoms' down did you travel
before you realized the dark didn't drown you
only slowed you down?
Soon we will break the surface and breathe,
I think it will be a whale of a dance.
