Mockery of Our Love

I write this letter by my hand
The old fashioned way
By moonlight or candlelight
In the darkness where I lay
My ass in a sling as I begin to sing
And I can't remember why
I have no control over you
The silence hums so deafening
You're my favorite when I fail
Out of love and out of time
I chose stripes over lies
Blindness if you refuse to shine
And I will know if your sigh
Is really your reply
What will you make of this turning
Round and round ?
What will we take while it's burning down?
All is well where we dwell all is well in this hell
Won't you come away with me?
To a place we need to be
Don't make a mockery of my love
My words like rivers drown
My song took flight and found
You among trembling leaves

beautiful poem, well written. In such a windy and snowy day, reading this piece just completes my relaxation. What a poem!
