Just Another Day

No annual reminder except that which I keep in my head

No mention from anyone who knows or thinks they know

Out of sight, out of mind

If I could I'd probably take that stance as well

Who wants to think about the cruel realities of life when they don't have to?

No one does.

No matter how hard the outer shell inside is soft flesh and warm blood

And we'd rather think happy thoughts

In this at least, we're all the same

Nevertheless my reality must be faced sooner or later.

Most times sooner than later

Truth is, I'll never forget

I can only pray to God that one day I'll forgive

Secret thoughts become my internal foes

Mental struggles to grapple with daily

So what's new?

Today's just another day.
