Happy Tears

It's safe to say that all who ever love
Within its heights were joyous and happy
And in its depths were drunken with tears.

A letter sad and smudged with ink washed tears
And questions why a heart should gladly love
When pain tears through a heart not happy.

So much elation and sorrow, days sad and happy
So many emotions that bring us to tears,
We wonder why we should ever love.

Until life smiles and love brings happy tears...
