Go back there

In the beginning you had a smile
It shone in the darkness
Like a beacon
You had a welcome mat
An open door
‘Come on in’ you yelled

Time moves in mysterious ways
And too much darkness
Sinks in to your soul
Your dreams topple
And you move the mat
And you close the door

Life can wind us
We find ourselves in the emptiness
That never ending Story
Where you can’t even name it
Wandering around confused
Asking the confused for directions
Checking a faulty compass
‘Am I going east or west?’

Turn around
Go back to where you left your smile
Travel back to those sunny days
Where you dared to look at the sun

Where your door was open

Remember that feeling
Go back there

I like it, it is the first poem of yours that I have read, I enjoy poems that communicate the human experience.
