Flowers by the River and a Boat

Flowers by the River and a Boat ---------------------------------------- Red poppies in a field 'mid green stalks, Where bathed in gold I often see you roam. Across three fields-- red earth, then a river; And it wends through the woods carving a sliver. Flowers by the marge in their grassy home; Breaking their slumber, while time slow walks. I rest where mine boat is moor'd at the beach. Cool wind, the shade of a silver willow. Shall watch the moon come out of the deep, When the earth is softly paled in its sleep. A sudden lurch, and a whisper low. Then our two hearts beating each to each. `` `` `` ( Always marvelled at Robert Browning's 'Meeting at Night',, and so here..... and also I borrowed from him the last line.)

Gautami, hi! Thanks for your recent visits and encouraging words. Truly appreciate them...thank you for allowing me to be inspired & taught by your classic style such as with this one. This is definitely Browning of our century! Stunning imagery! Hope I'll get there myself. Love from a friend, Wendy
