Finding My Place

I couldn't see the road ahead
or how it'd all work out...
In time I had to make a choice
though filled with fears and doubt...

The early years were filled with dreams
the stars where mine to grasp...
As time wore on and seasons changed
they disappeared so fast...

I wandered in and out of love
adrift out on the seas...
The disappointments wore me down
and brought me to my knees...

In time I found my place in life
someone who touched my heart...
The moment she declared her love
I felt the pain depart...

Such a beautiful poignant ending to this poem. The youthful descriptions are so adequately described, it took me there...when I was Young and as the season's changes...beautiful metaphors in this write! Thank you for sharing your work. I am so happy I have found you here on poetry soup and also to discover new poems from you! Best regards,

Oh, by the way.. besides beinga masterfully gifted poet Jon, I came up with a sentence for the photograph. Diddly Doggie says:" speak to me softly wisking words, fair child: (a lady before she ever knew) speaks honestly with her loving kindness to her loyal love "I will always be your friend." :) smile Jon. The pic touched me. Thanks alot :)
