Fatal Instrumental

You strummed her youthful chords each day
Took over her fragile instrument
To play yourself melodious tunes
Never thinking of the fact
That it belonged to her
Never asking her permission to play your adult songs
Because it was an addiction at first touch
You couldn't let her have it anymore
It made your adrenaline rush,
It was like a new drug to you
Without it, you couldn't keep up.
Heavy breathing,
Sweaty and hot like mid-summer evenings
Yet everything you touched got so cold
Those hands of yours
Were built with ice in their palms,
One touch freezes everything
There's simply no escape
Playing your sweet music made you a man,
It kept you alive
Knowing that the never-ending instrumental was killing her inside.

Touching and raw. Sad but beautiful piece. Poetry sometimes soothes the soul and breathes inspiration to reinvigorate what has been trampled.Be of good heart.
