As snowflakes fall from tangled tree branches,
They dance and whirl about me,
I stop and stand still,
Dazzled in a celestial light,
It is glorious and I am lost in a past dream,
Of walking in a summer breeze,
Gathering flowers,
Of sunlight caressing me,
Now in snow and an icy city street my dream fades,
With each falling snowflake,
As beautiful as any summer flower in my garden.
