Fallen Angel

You see her,
but don't know it.
She's lying on the floor,
scars on her feet,
her knees,
her hands.
Her eyes plead for acceptance,
that you disregard her tattered wings.
Too weak to stand up,
too tired to breathe,
the fall from heaven to earth,
sank her soul to the depths of this world.

This fallen angel sees deep in your mind,
right through your eyes,
she knows what you think you see,
and wishes you were blind.
Her hands rise in shame,
covering her bruised face;
they show more scars and blood,
which she just can't seem to hide.

Fallen angel from above,
wanting just to find love,
she's searching for something more,
to accept her broken wings.
Watch for the fallen angel;
show her what she thinks she can't have.
Teach her that bruises,
can be accepted unconditionally.

Love the fallen angel,
so she may become whole,
then one day this sweet angel,
might find her place in the heavens again.
