End of the World

End of the World

Bombs and mines and missles,
Artillery shells and nukes;
Humanity will end itself
And take the land to Hell.

"Killing is not enough," they say.
"Destroying will not do.
Oppressing the weak won't satisfy;
Let us use MOAB or die."

Fighter planes and bomber shells
Fly thick across the skies;
Smoldering flames rise ever higher
Urging wounded men to fire.

Once someone fires the first one,
Then more will follow its path
And detonate, bursting loud,
Brimstone high up past the clouds.

Thunder and lightning come before rain
But this is a torrent of burning acid and ash;
Yes, humanity will devour itself
By turning the world into Hell.
