Death Of A Queen

She died in 1694

Loved and hated for the crown she wore

Hoping for a male heir to the thrown

but a female is what they had grown

Still the mourners gathered round

to bid farewell to her lovely crown

Six horses lined up two by two

Her chariot glistening with morning dew

Mary Stuart she was named

The Queen of England she had reigned

No celebration upon her birth

but tears fell as she was layed in the earth

A disapointed father

Three babies born dead

but Mary carried on

with the crown upon her head

Born in the spring of 1662

She died at the age of thirty two

Smallpox took their Queen away

on that dark December day
