Dear Reader

I don’t want your victories
Or your favoritism
I don’t want your contests
	Or your dreams
I don’t want your acceptance

(I’m not bitter
	Because I don’t care
	For your approval
I’m not hungry for your fame
	Or your expectations)

I don’t want my poems
	To be dissected
To be told my work made it to
		The finals
		But it just wasn’t good
I don’t want a damned thing
That has to do with your critique
		Your starving lack of ambition
Just give me my space
And let me do my thing
	Let me write my poems
		Without your gift of false

Interesting write. although it sounds as if you are quite critical -for someone who does not want to be critiqued, ...does it not? Has not everyone else the right to do as they wish under direction of the terms of this public site , without Your criticism, Joseph? I enjoy your poems as well as the ones who want to join contests. They ,no doubt have their reasons as I do mine. Not everyone may know them. Literature is life and we are living. God bless you, my brother.Sincerely, Robert

Expressionism is not favored in polite society, it is too much for them. It scares them, hurts them, and the measure of quality, is based on narrow minded skill sets. I saw the contests also, and thought for a second, maybe i could win one, but remembered who i am and what i write. You are the me honest poet i have found on here yet.

I think that is basically what most of us want. What happens, is often something else. Appreciate your honest write. Hope it is ok to say that. Love, Shar
