Collateral Damage

Collateral damage the sacrifice
Snake eyes with a roll of the dice
Kind words on the deaf do fall,
Forced to experience it all.

A snide defiant look a mask,
To cover the love wanting to ask
Hiding away from biting words,
Cruelties quickly surge.

Ignorance like a muted voice,
Blinded by a mistaken choice
Deaf to the joys in life,
Purging a heart filled with strife.

Condemning one self for wanting love,
Children so hurt from a cruel shove
Hope springs eternal it's said,
Children fall on despair instead.

The cold slowly creeps to youthful eyes,
jaded by cruelty, malice and lies
Home is where the hate resides,
where true wickedness collides

Too many promises broken in half,
Now in the distance is a taunting laugh
Openly plotting the worlds demise
The gamble played, the abuser dies

Hey great! Also try putting the good things in life in the "piggy bank" see what adds up with them too.

enjoy your poem Poetess Darkley! Half the families of the world suffer from these abuses. I think this is the correct time Lord Buddha , Our Savior Jesus should be here. Where our generations after would be is a big question

Hi Poetess Darkley. I did write a poem for your contest but it appears when I looked through my entry I failed to post it in your contest. I am sorry I messed up. I still wanted you to read it. I tried to get a feel for what you might like by reading some of your poems. I hope you enjoy my poem. Have a great day.
