Empathize with rain for 
it is helpless to bestow 
full mercy and can not choose where 
                                     or when or how it falls

Lands of drought plead, more
Enough, lands of flood implore
as a token drizzle moans for a forest in flame
as a tropical storm howls for one seawall
                                                tragically breeched   

and man remains ignorant
indifferent to these kindred drops

A thousand ripples               softly                 reaching
