Birth of Consequence

The wants of her winter's heart beckon of lonely streets

Longingly she waits for this darkness in steep

From out from the shadows, now knell these eerie laments

The soul of a summer's night's cry, instilled to all as an approached mystic event

Yet, ye are not of ethics to belie right to view on this given moral ticket

This is the dual life of the snow fence and its weathered pickets

Where from, as autumn's empty winds rush past

They howl for the cold, cold company of all our winters' cast

Through the eyes of an Unknown Father

Dave, your poem makes me think of all the homeless people who endure harsh winters without homes. I know you are speaking of one woman's frozen heart, and that is always a tragedy. Mine has been frozen for some time as well. Beautifully written rhyme. Love, Carolyn
