A Window On Our World

I see through this glass darkly,
but how love brought light alive in the early days.
Me, coaxing the sunlight into your smile,
and you, conjuring the moonlight in my eyes.
Trembling newly in our expectations and ecstasies,
lust pulling insatiable and magnetic between us.
Completely sold on you, hooked by one lingering look,
quietly following that euphemism 'coffee' into the house.

Clothes and morals abandoned on the living room floor;
last garments of guilt thrown over a chair.
My nipples tingling for your touch,
the orange Axminster burning into my back,
your hips grinding me into flowers on the floor.
Summer meandering in over the windowsill;
curtain-shadowed, in the bedroom's billowing blue,
tangled together in sweat-wet sheets,

climbing to passion's pinnacle.
But reality reaches through the window of dream -
fumbling my way down to the kitchen,
clumsy and heavy from sleep, branded forever by you:
cherry bite blood blisters on my lips,
thundercloud bruises on my thighs.
My body still begging you to hold me bone-crushing tight,
stars exploding around us in the tingling dark.

This is the very first poem I posted on soup, and I was a bit apprehensive as to how it would be received, but at the same time I wanted to make my mark on the site with something a little 'edgy' and risque, to show that I wasn't one to shy away from writing openly and explicitly. I guess I chose this poem as my debut poem because I thought it would grab readers!

    wow, some heavy lovemaking described here. But in the way a woman wants to see it described, beautifully erotic! I loved so many different lines here I can't point them out. At least half the lines of this poem filled with the greatest imagery! andrea
