A Promise Kept
I can't promise that the sun will rise,
Or that I'll still be here tomorrow
I can't promise who I'll be tonight
Be it glee, or deepest sorrow.
I can't promise that we'll never mourn,
And feel pain inside our hearts
I can't promise that we'll last forever
But my love shall never part.
I can't promise that the sun will set;
That this day will die in peace,
I can't promise that you'll feel for me
And your love will never cease.
I can't promise that the stars will shine,
'Cause they don't shine for you and me,
But I promise that my words were true
And my love will always be.
