A Feather's Fate

A goose feather became the quill
                                                    For scribe with skill
                                                     To pen the words
                                                    On feathered birds
The fletching kept the arrow true
                                                          As up it flew
                                                       At eagle’s wing
                                                     To dress the king
But as I look on high and see
                                                        Now flying free
                                                What God would choose
                                                       How best to use

Craig, this is a very cool poem. I love the premise. I can't remember the last time I saw "fletching" used in a poem? -- maybe in a poem written 200 years ago.

THE NUMBER ONE SPOT!!!! Congrats to one of my fav poets! :) Lovely piece of work...AND...learned a new word...fletching! There is an Arabic proverb that goes like this: The one who taught me one has made me his servant. ;) Now wouldn't you like that!

:) We both picked quills! I like how you fit so much in, the bird, the arrow and the quill. Congrats on your win. This is such a lovely piece... hugs, Cyndi
