A Depiction of One Artist and His Starry Night

Vincent Van Gogh~Starry Night __________________________ a precarious world of indecision a dark pallet of light this brilliant depiction , it does scream , it cries out blues and yellows swirl in a maze of defeat a crescent moon suspended in a blissful evening , hangs lone in agony I rest within this small town of hope my eyes are saddened , my mind relentless in delight You are mine , my asylum , my starry night a dimension of light under this wrenching canopy of demise oh Vincent... __________________________

wow, rick, this is one of my favorites on the winners list. it is a very thoughtful and descriptive one, and I like how you invoke the essence of the painter, like in that song Starry STarry Night. congrats for your win.

Rick, you chose to describe my favourite painting! You gave the reader such an interesting glimpse into the mind of a brilliant yet disturbed artist. "A dimension of light under this wrenching canopy of demise" - I love that line! Congratulations on your win in my contest!

A most amazing painting that reflects the torment in Van Gogh's heart, Rick. I wish he had found relief from his "maze of defeat" before taking his life. He never knew the value of his own talent. Did a presentation on Van Gogh in an art appreciation class and played the Don McLean song. Your beautiful poem reminds me of the many feelings I had when I first heard the song. Love, Carolyn
