Halfway There

Standing here on a high cliff
                                 Gazing over the rough seas
A strange feeling finds it way into my heart
I could sure need lots of TLC
My soul is upset like the stormy sea
Does the seagulls notice my devotion?
In the twilight of my life there should be no fight
I have let it all just slip away into a blurry haze
My God how could I ever have been so blind
Now that life has reached halfway
There should be enough wisdom to fulfill the intense hunger for TLC
                                      I have stumbled and fell
                         Scarred by the years`inevitable trademark
                                       Now I am experienced
                                       Wisdom I have gained
I shall give the second chapter of my life a better closure

Arild, I really enjoyed this one, it touched a deep chord inside myself also, my favorite line is, " In the twilight of my life there should be no fight" Yet, I am finding more and more, once you pass 50, life is not at all what I thought it would be. Happy Holidays! Hugs, catie :)

I`ve heared some people saying life only gets better after passing the 40-and 50ties..then why are my back hurting,my kness painful etc..etc? Somewhere during our lifetime, our nice physics were exhanged with wisdom and experience..would be so much nicer if we could keep all those details Hugs,Arild

Thanks for your generous comment. We sometimes burn too much energy on matters that really doesn`t mean anything..while other issues are too important to just throw away.Hugs,Arild

You express what I felt at that time in my life. The years spent in stupidity when I could have used some wisdom now sadly gone. Great thoughts you penned. And thank you for your sweet visit!
