    Oldest of five brothers, I was the one who got away with everything. Spent thirty years as a Navy Reservist. People say I'm a little crazy. Thank God, normal people lead mundane lives. My greatest love is kids and I spend weekends working with abused kids with psychiatric problems almost always created by adult animals. I like music, mostly country and early rock. Married for forty years (my wife will be given the Medal of Honor) and have four kids, a 36 and 35 year old and two 23 year olds. The twins are a boy and girl. Including me, my wife has five. Got 5 grand kids. I'm big on amusement parks and would work for Mickey and Donald any day. I've seen a lot of the world (14 countries) and definitely miss the travelling with the Navy. I'm a firm believer in the power of prayer. I love this planet, so I'm going to stay awhile. I do believe war could be a necessity only in defense of your country and not as an excuse to prospect for oil. I believe that if there is any honesty or integrity in Washington, the guy is in the wrong city. People I most admire include Jimmy Carter, JFK and Billly Graham. I'm pro-life and anti- political correctness. I think the problem with political jokes is that most of them get elected.

I'm sitting here waiting for Penn State- Texas A&M and wondering.  We've got our priorities so screwed up that the excessively rich believe they are being cheated. Toi put it into context, A-rod who was crying the blues about his contract is making approximately $3000.00 an hour, 24 hours a day. That's for playing a children's game (and not very well in the post season). QB's in the NFL are getting millions. NBA players are off the richter scale in paychecks. One getting an unheard of salary complained he had a family to feed. The American sports fan actually compare salaries and will say one of their favorites is underpaid. This guy might be making $8 an hour and believes it. I already plan on seeing the World Series next  year but it won't cost that much. My son lives in Williamsport Pa and we decided to do some vacation time and catch a couple of games (Little League). It'll be nice to see a contest of young athletes giving everything they got. We could pay a fortune and go see a pro game of overpaid pampered millionaires and stand up and cheer because some multi millionaire whose greatest gift to society is that he can hit a round object with a stick 400 feet, does connect and puts one over the fence. Or, we could watch it on TV and pay a little extra for the soda at home because the manufacturere forked out a million dollars for a ten second spot in the super bowl.  The nice part is they are such wonderful role models for the kids. Barry for instant body building, OJ for family values, Steve  for being convicted so often the town wasn't sure he was eligible to coach his own daughter's softball team. Don't forget Allen for speeding with drugs and weapons in the car and Ron for being a FAN Favorite, actually going into the stands. It just seems to be getting better each year as the media even starts making excuses for them. Michael might even be back in Atlanta, but don't worry, if he has a rough time of it ESPN will hire him. I agree screwed up. The Rich I watched on TV will pay 59.00 for a side of Itallian Cavatini a side not even a plate. Often wonder if life would be nicer if one was rich but then I like my life and we always Thank God have a lil over thats nice. Thanks for always brining to the table a feast to ponder Vince. Kinda reminds you of the gladiator days, huh ... LOL ... I absolutely positootly agree with you here, Vince. It is obscene what we play a bunch of boys for playing games when our teachers barely make ends meet and forget about CNA's who get minimum wage and have to clean up everybody's you-know-what. I'll bet some linebacker would have a problem doing that ... smile ... look at how you've wound me up!! LOL ... great blog!! Happy New Year!

You are so right. We just been through the whole Michael Vick saga. They make excuses for him, he was so protected he never had to grow up etc. Well, I'm sorry, I don't think you have to be an adult to know that there is something wrong with torturing and killing animals.
