Equal Rights

Equal Rights are guaranteed by law
Quality of life has a major flaw
Universal acceptance will start the thaw
American laws are still too raw
Leadership lost the bigoted draw

Rights are rights, they belong to all
Idiots who fear to make the call
Give equality or watch the nation fall
Help the just tear down the wall
Truth prevail while hate will stall
See us from the dark ages crawl

Discrimination is discrimination no matter
how it is disguised.

What a marvelous read from a blessed paged built on lines constructed with the lyrics of the skies and words well supported by dynamic foamy clouds. Message well expressed! No doubt an absolute 7##.

Well written acrostic. I like the rhyming at the end of the sentence. Equal rights are a must in a civilised society. Best wishes Linda

I like to tell everyone this - in my grade school class (1930s) the two smartest kids in the class were black. Good stuff, Vince. Love, daver

It would be very hard to write a law that could not be manipulated to read the way someone wanted it to read..I believe that really deep down inside each person knows what is right but we tend to ignore it..Interesting topic chosen about which to write and one to open up much conversation..Sara

It is how we use it that remains important; for good, for bad, for evil, for love. Each person makes his/her own choices as the world turns.
