Washed Away What Easter Means To Me

Friday, I see the wounds and bow my head
I find no peace in the life I've led
There were no victories nor battles won
Oh Father, You gave us Your only Son
Saturday, there is an ache I bear
As I hit my knees in tearful prayer
So many times I've tried and fell
Praying forgiveness, deserving Hell.
Sunday, I cry out from my man made prison
I look to the tomb, but He is Risen
I praise our Lord for this Glorious Day
For all my sins have been washed away

If you saw the Da Vinci Code, Vince, there were allegations that Christ was married to Mary Magdeline. Some very intriguing evidence was explored, but I'm not convinced. As for women serving as priests, I concur. And if the church allowed all priests to marry, priests wouldn't be known for abusing young boys. Have a nice evening, Vince. Love, Carolyn

Vince, it's so nice to see you posting again. I could feel the sadness in this poem as well as the hope at the end. My hope is that things are going better for you and your family. Karen is looking for ways to improve the atmosphere on the site and I hope you have some suggestions. I'd be happy to pass them along to her and I'm just glad she's still hanging in there with us. If this poem is for the contest, I hope to see it in the winners' circle. Love and blessings, Carolyn
