A Sonnet for Becca

A Sonnet for Becca

Where once a gentle poet penned her heart,
we look upon a sad and empty page,
there - common thoughts became embellished art
and hungry thirst for passion was assuaged.
So oft our search for peace takes crazy turns
to where we find a tempest as we lay,
and not the kindred meadow that we yearn,
instead, a love that hate and wrath betray.
Yet, lingers there, a pensive hungry soul,
and from within that passion strives to sing;
so close to shore, so close the barren shoal -
perhaps she'll hear the harbor bells we ring.
    She IS the poem, she IS the "Fire's Glow",
   "The waves of pure intensity" that grow...

(The quotes in the couplet are from Becca's poem "I Am Poetry")

ok, I'm crying now. This is one of the nicest things anyone has done for me, Craig. But then, coming from you, its not surprising that you would take the time to make me feel special and wanted. That's who you are. Thank you so much. I lost my mother 3 weeks ago, rather suddenly. I'm hurting. I would love to come back to PS. Though I had some struggles when I was here before, I also found friendship and love here, and I miss that. Maybe writing about my pain right now is just what I need. I'm not sure I can. But I want to try. Anyway, thank you so much again, Craig, and to all who have written here, and/or written to me privately. Thank you so much for your kindness. With love, Becca x

Becca I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I know it is a difficult time for you. I hope and pray you can heal and have closer. It will take sometime. Know that we are here for you. I lost my dad two years ago in September. Wishing you well and I hope we see you posting again. We miss you. God bless you Becca...

Can't think of anyone who deserves it more Becca. So very sorry about your Mom and your family's irreplaceable loss. It is healing to write, though often hard when the pain is so close. Ironically because I left twice (as you may remember), the first poem I posted here when returning was "Do Angels Cry Too". Until you write, it's for you. Hugs

Craig this is such a heartfelt Poem for Becca. It reflects your feelings and feelings that many share with you for her. Your Sonnet I hope finds its way to her. Your Poetry gives us hope and keeps her memory alive to maybe someday grace her Poetry once again on her return. Thank you for posting and reminding us of one of our Dearest writers...
