Yonder

is it where light escapes through a distant window or well beyond to heaven's door a space so vast...it has no end beyond the wild and blue and perhaps more a destination with unspecific goals I don't know - but have been told a finger points where yonder goes "My father once asked me if I knew where yonder was, I said I thought yonder was another word for there. He smiled and said, no, yonder is between here and there" - Siri Hustvedt

Dear Craig, your poem is beautifully contemplative and delicately phrased with imagery that has set me to wonder where yonder is too. A lovely poem to linger with.. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

I did notice the subtle hint of the two cliches mentioned but your artistry made them feel unobtrusive and enhanced the wonder of yonder very nicely. Thank you for you kind words about my poetry, they are very uplifting coming from a poet of your caliber, Craig. Indeed, I overthink in an expressive (verbose) way for sure.. :) In the northeast, the only way to point to “yonder” (other than up..) is across the Atlantic.. yonder the shoals.. the buoys.. the Elizabeth Islands :)

Silly perhaps, but I slid purposefully across two cliche's, "What light through yonder window breaks" & "Off we go into the ..." you know where?! Wanted to bounce off those? I live in the northeast - I think from here you have to point straight up to mean yonder. In the midst of the prairies you can point all around - and yonder is out there somewhere?!
