Graduation Day

It's the end,
final years of study and play
      descend and
become one day
robed in sameness -
echoes from another verse of
"Is That All There Is"
haunt in deafening degrees.

Somehow, this journey of
joy and tears is truly
    the extra credits -
yearbook scribbles
  "To a Great Guy",
become tomorrows ponderances
and todays commencements...

Thank you for the great thought-provoking poetry! When were in the midst of school we still feel its swaddle. Then “To a Great Guy,” becomes quickly a thing of the past where he/she must find her way in the world. God bless!
