Distance Between Us Is But A Glimpse Of The Moon

I search the heavens for a trace of you,
Only to find your shadow in the lunar glow.
Its silver gaze stirs memories anew,
A lantern lit for hearts, only those longing...know.

Though oceans swell and continents divide,
Time has sealed the pathways we once knew,
Yet the moon still carries whispers to my side—
Distance between us is but a glimpse of the moon.

It shines for both, though miles apart we stand,
A bridge of light no darkness can erase.
I reach for you with memory’s gentle hand,
And touch your soul within that glowing face.

So long as moonlight crowns the endless skies,
Our love endures, where death itself denies.

Letters Lift Me

Letters lift me
When my world drowns
Hearing smiles in her voice
I know love exists

Cherish every minute
Days, weeks, hours
Counting as she sleeps
Waiting for her to wake

Breathing small hours
As our paths align
Brushing through our destiny
Drinking outrageous fortune

Our cores braided
Bodies untouched
Searing blood in our veins
Heavenly tides of emotions

Transparent hearts
Hewn of fire and glass
Fusing with critical mass
An indivisible new shape

Atta-Gal I'm your Man tonight

The perfect indication
a smirk, with some flirtation
a special night
for dating
do you wanna dance with me

Suggestive comments got me thinking
that atta-bouis
and all that winking
laning on me
got me thinking
you wanna dance with me

aint got the right stuff for staying
work in the morning my Boss aint
playing
But you got me wanting
some forward thinking
the night aint through
when the band finishes playing

I got a kiss
after a whisper
the gentlemen said
she called me her Mister
Right night
the romance of the mmusic
dancing
smiling and grooving
what a night
what a romantic evening
got a foolish man
beleiving
take my time
clm all the feelings
freshen up for a specail evening

Premium MemberAlong the Sea Shore

They walked barefoot on the wet sand.
The hot sun had dipped beyond the horizon.
The brine and fresh air intertwined,
How pleasant to walk hand in hand!

Occasionally she would stoop,
Her wedding ring glinting in the dying sun.
She would search for lovely decorated shells,
Whilst he tried throwing flat stones
Across the calm stretch of the waveless sea.

Finally, they had to turn back to their inn.
The access to the beach stopped their tracks.
Large rocks hindered further progress.
They did not mind really. It was dark now.

Their previous footprints were almost obliterated.
Above the dark sky like sequins glittered stars.
They arrived at the inn, finely prepared.
They found champagne and sipping all
Until they fell into a deep restful sleep.

Its how i wish

It’s how i wish
distance was never there.
I wish I could pull you closer
and whisper that I care.

Every now and then,
every thought of you
finds me missing you more.

It’s how I wish
I was right there beside you,
able to open my heart
and let you in completely.

Of greatest fears sunset with hard tears
For a young lass too soon to pass
Sweet without guile her fresh sweet smile,

Miriam Millicent Mannerheim-Merps
Loved calling her two younger brothers, twerps
After she had her first child
Both were very sweet and mild
But when baby nursed, they crooned her with burps.

Standing beneath a streetlamp
At my hometown country fair
An odor so refreshing
Was lingering through the air
Thinking about my sweetheart
With my hands upon her hips
And feeling my heart; beating
From the flavour of her lips

Sweet and Romantic

It was just another , ordinary day
quite boring, some people would say
and her hair was a mess, and old jeans as her dress
and she'd just done dishes, fed up, she'd confessed

after his hard day at work, another room records playing
and she had no idea , what the singers were saying
then he came into kitchen, and held her so tight
then kissed both her eyes, so very, very light

he sang her a song , while he looked into eyes
but she was so very, very puzzeled, as to the reason why
she couldn't hear much what the song had been saying
for she paid no attention, to the music that was playing

she had smudges on her face , from deep oven cleaning
and the floor needed mopping, that she kept on so meaning
and her hair such a mess and her ripped jeans as her dress
and she had been feeling fed up, she'd have to confess

and it was only much later, she took up the time
to read up the lyrics............ that to her, he did mime.

Premium MemberWhy Is Child Heartbroken

"The pen must go where the pen wants to go. Today it went down Heartbroken Lane." By Poet

The day came in with a great start
but is going out with a broken part.
With a child's loving and young heart,
it must take a very painful dart.
today I lost my furry best friend,
in life guess some things have to end.
Her soft cream and tan colored fur,
would make me really want to purr.
The day we got her from the pound,
was all smiles and never a frown.
My little heart filled with smiles and love,
I knew she was from heaven above.
A saved rescue pet she would be,
wearing a halo for all to see.
Mommy made car riding so real,
it was always a big fun deal.
Night time we would drift off to sleep,
morning from the bed we would leap.
For a child death is always so cold,
our good times I will forever behold.
Now Angel is gone to heaven to wait,
rainbow bridge crossing has no date.

Premium MemberSweet Summer

To thrushes’ serenade at blush of dawn
and with the blooming of magnolia trees,
sweet Summer wills the sun to smile upon
the meadow flowers scenting morning’s breeze.
Sometimes she’s mellow; other times she’s bold.
She’ll sizzle, yet she’ll soothe with wind’s embrace.
She’s strawberries, fireflies and marigold.
In azure skies, she plants a rainbows’ grace.
Then drawn-out days at last come to an end.
Persimmon sunsets disappear from sight
when shadows creep and into darkness blend,
but her bright stars can light the blackest night.
I still recall how all my cares were flung
when she came. Oh, to be once more so young!

Premium MemberDancing Dots

Dancing dots that you can't see
Dance messages of love from me
And when I finish I hit send
Then when they reach you on your end
You'll know that I just thought of you
Even though I always do
A moment taken to be still
And write my thoughts of you at will
If every thought got off my chest
These dancing dots would never rest
So maybe it's really for the best
When you can't see each dot expressed

Your dress today looked beautiful
So beautiful on you
I saw it when you first walked in
What others said was true
You wear your clothing oh so well
I love to see your choice
And something else I love as much
Is the sound of your sweet voice

The things that make me notice
Are what things set you apart
But the person who you are inside
Is what captivates my heart
I'll keep these things close to my cuff
Unless they should be sought
For I always liked it when you'd ask,
If I'd any other thoughts?

Premium MemberBe Mine?

I’d say I know my partner pretty well:
She’s cool, so smooth, and outshines every light?
that merely grazes her—O’! what a sight!
If just that you could see what I can’t tell!

My partner is that holy, hallowed well!—
A muse and martyr, wisp and wanton sprite,
if you could catch an honest glimpse, you might
then think I’ll die under her wicked spell!

You would be right, you would be right indeed…
I am smitten—and hooked to her sweet charms;
Yeah! every night falling asleep, it’s she
who steals me, as were she a sleepy steed,
to a night-time embrace,—with drunken arms,
she slips me gently into slumber’s sea.

Willy the wannabee Wallaby went
To visit his sweet, sick aunt Millicent
He met a dingo who said,
Don’t look for Millie in bed,
Relish her in my belly with free rent!
