Good Night Sweet Kitty

Good night, sweet kitty.
It is time for us to sleep.
The moon is out, the day is done,
It's time for us to dream.
What is that crash, oh furry one?
You say you see a bug?
I've looked and looked, nothing is there,
Are you sure it wasn't a dream?
I'm startled awake by an apparition,
a screech, a snarl, a scream
A furry streak of puffed-up fur,
a wailing and a keen.
It seems I forget to leave out treats,
Oh, how bad of me.
As the moon watches the exchange,
the cat reprimands me.
Here's your treat, my goblin child,
Oh, please forgive your servant, me.

Premium MemberSpider in My Window

There’s a Spider in My Window.

There’s an Orb Weaver spider in my window,
it’s weaving a new web today.
There’s an Orb Weaver spider in my window,
and in its web, it will catch prey.

With a web that is almost invisible.
So tiny, small strands that are clear.
Completely unwary flies and mosquitoes,
so foolish they fly much too near.

There’s an Orb Weaver spider in my window,
it’s weaving a new web today.
There’s an Orb Weaver spider in my window,
and in its web, it will catch prey.

The mosquitoes they bite me in the nighttime,
and the flies can carry such blight.
But the Orb Weaver spider’s tiny webbing,
keeps me safe from bugs in the night.

I don’t think that I will disturb her webbing,
she is cute in black and white stripes.
So instead, I will wish her good morning,
and wish her a safe and good night.

There’s an Orb Weaver spider in my window,
it’s weaving a new web today.
There’s an Orb Weaver spider in my window,
and in its web, it will catch prey.

I always say good morning
I always say good night
I send them telepathically
If they don't come by write
So if your heart starts ringing
The phone call is from me
Sweet nothings I am singing
Your heart's the addressee

Good Night and Sweet Dreams

I always hear the sound of guitars strumming
harmonica music and cowboys humming
when I feel a warm night breeze upon my face

Whenever I look at a summer night sky
or hear the sound of a coyote's lonesome cry
it always takes me back to that peaceful place

Where men who did not care where they spit or cussed
with wrinkled leather faces covered in dust
would gather around the glowing campfire light

Singing those songs about how life used to be
when cowboys on the range were peaceful and free
until the day’s work tucked us in for the night

We’d rise up each day even before it was dawn
throw on a hat, a shirt, and shove our boots on
ride out to the herd to meet the rising day

It may not have been a fancy life that’s true
seems we always had a million chores to do
but this old cowboy still dreams of living that way

I woke up to the sunrise
The sunrise was your face
Imagine waking to that every day
A thought I do embrace

At first I thought it was a dream
I've had those kinds before
But when it didn't fade away
I knew it was for sure

My smile hasn't left me
I'm sitting on my chair
And looking out across the lake
In blissful trance I stare

Reality's a funny thing
I know that you're not here
But in my thoughts indeed you are
Your essence always near

So here and there throughout the day
At the picture I will look
Until it lives within the folds
Of your chapter in my memory book

Premium MemberBy Chance To Dream

And as this day draws to a close
I'll shut my eyes and look for sleep
And if I should by chance to dream
A dream of you my mind shall keep
That dream inside my deepest part
To cherish forever within my heart
Alongside others still aglow
For I've had many, you don't know

Was It Fate

If you saw me first, would we have ended up the same?
Would you have come over to me and asked for my name?

Sometimes I wonder if you would've chosen me on your own.
Or would that day come and go, and we both leave alone?

Was it fate that brought us together, or was it my determination?
Maybe it was just blind luck and the right situation.

I need to feel like you're with me because, in your heart, I'm the only one.
Not that you picked me, but I could be anyone.

Premium MemberA Sweet Poetic Good Night

The onset of sleep tiptoes in as a most silent whisper.
God blows it into ears of both him and her.

We have deep kaleidoscopic dreams that give us rest.
With no music on, just our gentle hearts beating against our chests.

Some give their souls to God for safe keeping.
They are unlike sad others who go to bed weeping,

We thank God for His generous blessings this day.
And place our poetic headsupon soft, creative pillows without delay.

We are thankful for the poetic hearts who touched us across the miles.
Our eyes, now closed, we see their loving, beaming smiles!

and what did you do today
I casually wonder
as I tuck myself snugly into bed
the lights turned off

I wonder what does one do
on a day like today
up there beyond our realm and universe
rid of the burden of an aging body
what does a spirit do
to while away the time

tell me, dear
what did you do today

Good night my Love
Dream of the morrow
Sleep tight my Love
Know not of sorrow

Sleep well my Love
our true path is narrow
Good cheer my Love
see Cupid’s sweet arrow

All’s well my Love
hear songs of the sparrow
Take care my Love
I‘ll see you in shadow

Moon Dancer

Her silhouette in moonlight’s gaze
accentuates her splendid curves
she dances in moon’s golden glow
feet tiptoe ‘cross the velvet turf

She floats through night’s gentle breeze
as if she were a lullaby
enticing only lovely dreams
amid a velvet midnight sky

The Never-Ending Night

You may rest now, love,
between the dark roses and the jasmine.
You can rest,
the moon will watch you sleep,
the earth will still be underneath
your tired, beautiful feet.
Rest, my love,
With the stars you can dream...
Rest.
The sunrise will bring you peace.
