IN THE LAVENDER AND ROSES

Lay me to rest in the lavender and roses
That I have planted in the silence beneath
Stone walls closing off the world of noise
Where I have sat and thought of only you
In prayers preparing me for your presence

Lay me in the lavender and roses
Where I have studied the clouds
And heard the voices of protecting angels
Where I have watched the bees seek nectar
And butterflies salt from skin’s memory of tears

Lay me in the lavender and roses
And let me turn back into earth
Remember me for what I wanted to be
For what I could do considering the torment
And brutality of the life I lived for you.

Premium Member Commissions from the Spirits

The Spirits visit me in bed
And whisper dictums in my palm
Their chosen prophet to inscribe
Their eulogies and psalms.

That kiss of breath into my hand
Does animate my soul
And stir the kindled furnaces
Ideas for their coal.

Smelting verses for the Voices
From ore they gave to me
Moulding their commissions — gratis
The work does set me free.

Premium Member The Illusion of Progress

Where is it we are heading
If not where we began,
But when we arrive
There is now a difference.
Hamsters on their wheel
Are always striving and always arriving
Since clearly the journey is the goal.
And yet there must be some goal
Held in sight, some vision to pull us
As we run round and round
Otherwise we would simply stop,
And, if truly a hamster,
Eat some of the roses.

Through Life’s Clenched Jaw

I have walked the hallways
where minutes gnash like teeth,
each second a pebble pressed
into the jaw of memory.

The air tastes of iron--
memory’s rust,
old prayers swallowed
before they ever touched the light

Yet still - I carry my candle
into the jaw’s dark cavern,
its flame a soft rebellion
against the grindstone silence.

Soft laughter rests in the cracks,
like seeds grabbed
into the frozen earth,
waiting for the frost to release them,
for spring to rise
from winter’s quiet.

I move onward,
not a hostage,
but marrow unbroken,
a hymn rising
through bone and enamel,
singing until the jaw
yields to the light.

When she finds her place
and spreads her wings
God has taken care of everything.
He gave her freedom
from the bonds and chains
so she could bring glory
to His name.
She can live without fear
and stop hiding in the shadows.
She knows that no matter where she goes
God will always follow.
She was never alone
and never will be
because it was God
that set her free.

Premium Member Ulladu Narpadu verse 5

The light of Self is in five sheaths concealed,
the grossest being this form made of dust,
then is the life force breath by breath revealed
and kundalini’s potent power thrust,
beyond which is lower mind we mistrust,
then intuition, aligned with God’s mind,
subtlest being bliss imbibed by hearts kind,
so when we speak of form it is all this,
where in our heart’s core, light of Self’s divined,
beyond space-time, in the void’s dark abyss.

Premium Member The Self has no attributes

In observer stance, as senses recede,
bliss magnetism silences lower mind,
whence surrendering thus, we let God lead,
our orientation, divine aligned.

When all traces of ego fade away,
as light of Self, bereft of attribute,
we have no fears or desires to allay,
hum of peace continuing to reboot.

There’s nothing to be done, we feel complete,
each playful intent, instantly fulfilled,
our pure being mirroring God’s heartbeat,
love, light and wisdom in our Self instilled.

We’ve strayed far from God but yet can return,
by invoking grace in mind-body urn.

silence swallows time, vaporising space
Self, which is heart does with God’s heart entwine
in no-thingness Self with Self does embrace
as living light, with God’s mind does align

Crazy

We’re driving the public crazy
But you know, it’s all for fun
We’re driving the public crazy
But you see, it’s all for fun
Let’s tell ‘em that the sun is the moon
And that the moon was actually the sun

You can park your car in the driveway
Ain’t nobody gonna leave
Park your car in the driveway
Ain’t nobody gonna try to leave
The more I think about it,
More I wanna lay my head and grieve

Well we lived in chauvinism
For goin’ on ten thousand years
Living in chauvinism
For just about ten thousand years
But they been lookin’ at us from watchtowers
They got infinite records of fears

Now I dont wanna fire my weapon
Don’t wanna start no kinda duel
Don’t wanna fire this weapon
And start some kinda duel
‘Cause I know just what’s gonna happen:
Disintegration of all rules

If you talk about my mother,
Then brother, you’re gonna pay
Talk about my mother
And brother, you gonna pay
I got this receipt for a motel
And forever, that’s where we’ll stay

(“Eye of God”, 2018, mixed media encaustic and mirror glass)

Everyone reflects the infinite
Within the finite pool of their mind.
The universe is vast
And yet it shines within us all.
If our minds are full of fear and hate
We will see hate all around us.
If our minds are full of love
We will see love all around us.
The universe contains it all
And so can we.
If we want to know what our minds are like,
What we are really like,
Look no further than how we see the world.

fawn is my power animal
increasing my ability to be aware

to encourage others to show their softer side

fawn is my power animal

she is as young and fresh

Premium Member Ulladu Narpadu verse 4

the all seeing spiritual eye shines
as God’s self-existent luminous flame
being the source with which our soul aligns
then ego gives each sense organ a name
forgetting God from Whom boons of grace came
and so recognising we are That Self
we delight in life that flows by itself

Premium Member Knot of the heart

We are not body-mind, we are not this,
concept of ‘I’ being knot of the heart,
which divine grace dissolves, bestowing bliss,
so if God-search we truly wish to start,
shift from ’I’ to ‘we’ deeming none apart.
Feeling deep in our core, bliss beats humming,
we don’t attain but be by becoming.

Premium Member Zen mode

immanent in each cell of form
we feel God’s lustrous presence warm
wherein thus as boundaries blur
bliss beats rise as nodes within stir
and with no doing done at all
that we’re living light, we recall

Premium Member Battle For Your Mind

(“Citadel of Light Merit Badge”, 2016, original pen and ink)

Battle For Your Mind

We live in a time of upheaval and change,
Challenge and war,
But the biggest battle
Is what some call “jihad”
An internal struggle of light and dark
As a soul makes their way along the path.
But along with the esoteric jihad
There is the exoteric, external struggle for your soul,
And battle for your mind,
A battle between the Death-eaters
And the Life-givers.
In this battle of temptation
Desertion is always an option,
And as many times as we may vacillate
What matters most is where we finally settle.
And in an infinite universe
On a timeline of eternity,
As Led Zeppelin said,
You can always change the road you’re on.
But once we know how it will end
Then the momentary ups and downs
Cannot confuse and distract us.
This is the Path of Seeing
The path of no return
The warrior path
In the battle for your mind.
