My Admiration For A Hand-Woven Tapestry

Each thread hums —
drawn by patient hands,
dyed in storms and thaw.

The base is pale as morning frost,
fibers holding winter’s quiet breath.
Across it, ribbons of shifting hues
wind like rivers —
green bending to blue,
violet bruised into pink.

At the center, twin knots gleam —
changing under every flicker of light,
tidal glass or meadowstone,
never the same twice.

Edges fray softly,
not from neglect
but from touch repeated, cherished.
The whole cloth sways with a living pulse —
a work forever becoming,
never complete.

I Miss The Crab Apple Orchard, And Pretending To Be A Knight

Life has an odd habit
of making you miss
old street curbs and
stop signs.

The street I miss
the most, though,
has to be the cross
street between the
crab apple orchard
and my friend
Jacksons
house.

Something about that
place felt infinite. And
something about sometimes
friends feels greater than
sometimes.

Would I go back?
Absolutely not.

Because it was by my
old elementary school,
and going there would
only remind me of all
the times being a kid
was enough.

I think it stopped being
enough when I got to
the ending of "Stand By
Me." And I realized that
River Phoenix was dead.

Or maybe it ended when
my brother got a girlfriend,
and I developed a bad habit
of sleeping in,

to ignore the fact
that I was undesirable,
and that my brother didn't
want to play games or talk
to me anymore.

I miss my brother.
I miss Jackson.
And I miss that green
park that was right behind
his house.

And I especially miss
that old crab apple orchard
where I wasted whole
afternoons reading up on the
adventures
of Tom Sawyer
and Huck Finn.

Tell me,
are there any
street curbs you
miss?

We’re Not Dating, But

We’re not dating—
but you heart-react to my stories like it’s a full-time job,
send a “you up?” at 12:47 a.m.
then disappear like my willpower at a shoe sale.

You say you don’t do drama—
but you’ve got more red flags
than a Formula 1 race
and the emotional depth of a spoon.

You post gym selfies with deep quotes
like “loyalty is everything”
but couldn’t commit to a dinner reservation
without texting your group chat first.

I bring the vibe.
The sauce.
The playlist.
You bring… vibes?
Just vibes?
Sir, where’s the effort?

Modern dating is just
flirting, ghosting, and guessing
if “lol” means “I’m into you”
or “I’m emotionally unavailable but cute.”

We’re not dating—
but I still debated if I should shave for this maybe-hangout.
We’re not serious—
but your ex still watches my Insta like it’s Netflix.

You want wifey energy
on a side-chick schedule.
Nah. I’m not a limited-time offer.
This ain’t Costco.

Come with consistency,
or go play tag with someone else’s energy.
I’m too cute to be confused.

For Only You

since i met you
it's always been you
the one i go to sleep and dream of
you fill my nights with full moons
you've planted seeds in my mind
that you kissed till they bloomed
so please
leave your lips on my pillow
next to the scent of your perfume
i hope you stay for a while my love
for you teach my mind to be kinder
cause sometimes
i get down on myself
but your smile serves as a reminder
to keep my head above water
and that's the power of people
if love is a drug then
i've been stuck by your needle
and i know it's mutual
cause when you speak
i can see it in your pupils
like a little candle that's lit
and as it flickers and sits
i see your mind glow alive
as the flicker laces and faces
my lips
i'm holding a candle too
a bright butane blue
and although
i was the one who sparked it
my love
it stays a flame
for only you

Premium MemberSocial Media Princess

We first met coasting the blurred lines
of the information superhighway. We
exchanged polite words and respectful
kindness, though we seldom saw or heard
each other.

I am the old man of touch and eye contact,
you are the princess of text and illusions.
I adapt to your hot realms, to your affinity
for glittering screens because past and future,
old and young are but shadows cast
over the now.

Once I learned the rules, I believed in you.
You are alive and fragrant within the text
you deliver each moment of each day.
In the photos you send, in the stories you share,
you thrive and brighten my journey!

Social Media Princess,
my apps erect you through your words,
like the heroine I love in my favorite novel,
the perfect Eidolon in my dreams.
You return, making your offerings
again, and again. I somehow hear your
whispering words soothing my
solitary hungry heart. I somehow awaken
to your textual passion and kindness,
to my love and longing for you.

To Raven

Have you ever tried to stop a tidal wave?
Usually doesn't work too well.
I'm stumbling over myself,
Crashing into wall after wall.
Or maybe they're crashing into me.

I'm trying so hard to be normal.
It's not working too well.
You're in everything I look at.
Every song, every feeling, every piece of art.
Maybe you are one.

I love the way your name feels on my lips.
To imagine, I can say it as much as I like?
What kind of luck is that?
Not only do I get to kiss you,
But you actively want me to?

Hot d#mn.
I'm a lucky kid.

Robert Sherriff Golf Humor Story

Robert Sherriff - Australian - Poet -Author - Singer - Actor - American Historian – Photographer- Dedicated TO Jarryd Health Peter Les Sherriff
Golf Humor Story
As I sauntered along the lush, green golf course fairways, the player ahead slowed to meet me. With a grin, I inquired, "How's your game shaping up today?"
Turning back, he met my gaze with a hint of exhaustion and replied, "A piece of advice - never spar with your spouse before hitting the greens." He smiled wryly, "Especially if she's a better golfer than you! I'm still trying to recover from the 'hole' situation."
He chuckled softly, "Believe me, my game is not reflecting its true potential out there."
Feel free to share this humorous tale with your golfing friends or on social platforms! It's a story that all golfers, from beginners to pros, can relate to. Sometimes, a touch of fun is all it takes to navigate those challenging rounds with a smile.

I'M PERFECTLY FLAWED

I have known love;
Underneath your tender arms.
In the much you have;
Your smile is the charm.

Your smile brightens my face;
Scaring away my wrinkles.
You make my heart race;
Works up my ankles.

Your heart have I trampled;
And emotions juggled.
I'm full of trouble;
No doubt, bundled.

Teach me your love language;
Embrace me with my buggage.
Lend me your courage;
For fear is my bondage.

Tommorow is uncertain;
I dare not promise.
To cherrish you often,
Is my desire, miss.

In case I'm at fault,
I pray, don't bolt.
My hand please hold,
For I'm perfectly flawed.

She That With A Sweet-Laid Kiss Captured My Heart

She a true angel yet forever incomplete
Yes, forever and a thousand years in a day
But her heaven rests completely between her sheets
Her love was abundant, sweet in every way
But in love's resplendent and blaze-cast flaming throes
She felt the intense burns of love's amazing heat
In her hotter flames she gave thrills down to your toes
Her fiery sexcapades, nothing ever cold beat
Blessed was discovery of that cool hidden heart
Wooing you with that dearest billion-dollar smile
After all she was beauty and grace from the start
But sometimes she had to use her wily wiles.

She that with a sweet-laid kiss captured my heart.
June morn we both swore to Heaven we never part!

A Fall

The season of autumn is the time for a fall
So I fell in October, I gave you my all
You caught me and smiled and I kissed your sweet lips
Crisp air and sweaters and your softly curved hips

I traced a finger over your collarbone
You told me I never had to be alone
We stood under a crimson canopy
I told you that you were dear to me

That’s when we first said the word ‘love’
We held hands to keep warm, yours fit me like a glove
Apple cider, cardigans, I loved every minute
But calling you my girlfriend was by far the best of it

I got on my knees and made you my queen
You told me to only say what I mean
The beautiful landscape lifted our mood
And in the splendor of fall our love was renewed

Honey-Child That Sweet-Spun Gift, You Don't Want To Miss

She cried, "Please write a sonnet that bites my butt"
Dear poet, I give you whiskey, my mouth stays shut
With that you may be lucky, I send a french kiss
Honey-child that sweet-spun gift, you don't want to miss!
In it I place marsh-mellow licks and tiger hugs
Bring you a chocolate cake with magical bugs
A fifth of devil red wine and a cigar too
No end to the sex-fun, that night things we shall do
Let sonnet lick my pretty butt, as you taste it
I will go crazy mad, I'll have a raging fit
Dear, let it rhyme and send my sexy brain aloft
Make it hotter than exploding sun and so soft
Give me romantic verses, I care not the costs
I want whole movie, in our love, I get true lost!

Poem had better be sweet as a hot peach pie.
I'll be so naked it will lacerate your eyes!

Robert J. Lindley, 16 verse sonnet
NOV. 7TH, 1973

Note:
This poem was written for my beautiful girlfriend Alisa.
But she went to California to visit her father and never came back.
So, I never gave it to her. I had forgotten about it until I found it in these poems recently I found.

Ice Cream

The weather is so hot an egg could be fried on the path.
Milkman Ted to his girl - "In ice-cream I will fill your bath.
It will be pasteurized because pasteurized is best."
Said she "I’ll be happy if it comes up to my chest."
Now his girlfriend is much sweeter, that was the aftermath.

Premium MemberAll the Fantasies You Have Ever Dreamt

For so long, of you, my mind has dreamed
Finally, my eyes wishes were streamed
As you come towards me when I'm dreaming
Thoughts of you feeling loved I am streaming
Roll over toward me, I will hold you in our dreams
Our hands discover each other, love affectionately streams
Whisper to my ear all the fantasies you have ever dreamt
Both wake tangled in brambles, of devotion that's never empt

She made this bard the courts most hilarious jester
A ferris wheel of brown-orange eyes expresses her
Try to look in those eyes and not become their requester
I fall in like quicksand, into muddy pools as I caress her
Cinnamon of that iris gives my heart nothing but pester
The purse strings wide open, my soul now, her investor

Who knew you were so mechanically incline
My cardiac specialist, you fixed the broken in mine
Who knew you possessed such a green thumb
Growing feelings in a salted heart that was numb
Who knew you could build something out of nothing
Filling the void, the abyss, the hole with your everything
Who knew you could be a blanket wrapping me
Without disillusion, with you, I am who I want to be
