Robert (Bob) Moore I was born in Openshaw Manchester UK in 1942, my father was training in the Army at Aldershot, and my mother was working in a Munitions Factory, family story was I was born in an air aid shelter, built in the middle of the street, but I thinks I was born in a bedroom in my Nan's house, and the midwifes name was Nurse Hogg, In 1946, dad came home, and we moved to a larger house, me, mam, dad, and my sister Marion, the house was in Gorton, another Manchester suburb, and even has its own bathroom.
In 1950 dad was again off fighting in Korea, and at 8 years old, I was the Man of the House for a while, I had 3 sisters by then, Marion, Elaine and Christine, was the youngest. In about 1952, dad was demobbed, and we moved round the corner to another house, and stayed there until 1960, when we migrated to Sydney Australia. I started writing my poetry in 2015, a friend on Facebook, Billy Briggs was writing on a Gorton webpage, so we got together and started a group, "Poetry and Ditties from Gorton and other places" on FB, most of our members are living around there, or are ex-pats
I hope you enjoy reading my efforts, as much as I enjoyed writing them
