Family Pride

Family Pride
             by Bob Moore 2023
You have not walked in my shoes
you have not been where I have been
you cannot see through my eyes
you have not seen what I have seen

You cannot know what’s in my heart
what joy and pride is there
the memories and stories
the loving and the care

Of family, both here and now
and those who have left the fold
but will always be remembered
their stories told and told

Of days long gone, and times long past
these things we thought would always last
but we all know, deep in our hearts, that nothing last for ever
enjoy life now, their stories tell, and they’ll be forgotten never
