My Poetry Notes

I will sort through all my poems today
the ones I never wrote
they might be just a line or two
or maybe, just a note
Those words which came to me one day
and just jumped into my head
“that sounds good, I will write it down,
and continue later with the thread”
“The boy stood on the burning deck”
no, that’s been done before
the question “To be or not to be”
Shakespeare asked in days of yore.
It seems there may be nothing
that is new under the sun
whatever you may write, you find,
it has probably, been done.
So I will write what I believe
was borne in my own mind
and hope that plagiarism
in the future, we do not find.
