Old Age by Robert J (Bob) Moore ©2020 Didn’t used to talk like this didn’t used to moan didn’t used to walk like this didn’t used to groan I always had a spritely step and a strength was in my voice but I guess I suddenly got old I really had no choice It sure does sneak up on you and slowly but surely you find your get up and go, has got up and gone and you were left behind So, now most of my free time is spent doing what I please as long as it’s not too strenuous there’s no pain in my knees If my arms don’t ache, and my back is good and I can move around then I should not complain too much there are worse to be found

Such a perfect description of getting older. Being grateful to make it this far, is miraculous, pain notwithstanding. Glad I found you Robert. Your clarity is wonderful. Thank you Panagiota.

sometimes truth is not pleasent, but we have to live with it, and if we live long enough, we have to accept what comes with it Thank you for your comments

An accurate + well written posting Bob. I agree with you that to persevere is the best acceptance of growing older. Look after yourself. Best wishes, Brian

Yes Brian, every year there are a few more twinges, accept, and do what you can.

Second stanza is the best. We have no choice but to accept old age even we hold enough mental strength. Best wishes.

It comes to us all Anisha, best to accept if you can, and enjoy what you can.

A fine realistic portrayal of the effects of old age when it creeps up on us Bob, showing nice rhyme and flow with a little insight too. Take care, blessings, Gordon
