Listen to poem:
Wear Your Poppy by Bob Moore © 2019 It really doesn’t matter which side you wear a poppy, just wear it with pride to honour those who went to war the things they did, and the things they saw Most of us will never know the sound of a rifle, a shell flying low the loss of a friend, in the blink of an eye Those lines of wounded men passing by We sleep in our beds, all snug and warm not waiting and dreading what comes with the dawn Because of those who fought and died so wear your poppy, and wear it with pride

Well written, Bob. I certainly agree that those brave soldiers who fought on our behalf deserve recognition + remembrance. Best wishes, Brian

Thank you Brian, my father fought in 2 wars, WW2 and Korea, he never spoke much about it, but I wonder how I would have handled it.
