Years Flown By

I think I know what’s happened
in the years which have flown by
we have had times for laughter
and times we had to cry

We’ve had hellos and had goodbyes
new friends found, and old ones lost
Lots of memories here to keep
but as always, there is a cost

Some we loved, no longer here,
we think of them every day
we held them, and we loved them,
but we knew they could not stay

And so we think about them
as another year does fly
and drink a toast to their memory
and again, we say goodbye.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
