Notes About The Poem

Lost Talent

Lost Talent
         by Bob Moore © 2017

I think my poetry is going to pot
don’t seem to get the “likes” I got
when first I started on this gig
guess my following is not that big

Ideas have gone, my mind it spare
there are no thoughts, just waiting there
which I can turn into a rhyme
to remind us of another time

So I think I will just mow the lawn
that’s where my best ideas are born
walking up and down each row
maybe words will start to flow

The lawn is mown, the wife is happy
but none of my thoughts were snappy
so I think I’ll have a cup of tea
maybe tomorrow, just wait and see.
