by Bob Moore © 2019 As I grow older, the more I know just what my parents did For me and my three sisters when I was just a kid. They clothed us, and they fed us and kept us safe at night when all the world was at war and the men went off to fight Our mothers worked and worried about family far and near and prayed our dad would come home soon to a life free of war and fear We never really understood We were only kids But now we know and understand Just what our parents did,
