Notes About The Poem

Listen to poem:

A Morning Cuppa

A Morning Cuppa
                      by (Bob) Moore (2018)
A cup of tea is lovely in the morning
sit out the front just as the day is dawning
a big veranda there, with a table and a chair
to plan your day, and try to stop from yawning

The sun is good, and warms you to the bone
you sit there, like a king upon his throne
you could think of things to do, if you really wanted to
but I it’s lovely here, so enjoy your tea and scone

Then a voice calls out, from somewhere far away
the wife wants you to start another day
mow the lawn, and clean the windows,
be surprised how quick the mood goes
when that daily list of chores, heads out your way
