Greeting Cards

Greeting Cards
by Bob Moore ©2018

Christmas cards and Birthday cards. and cards all full of cheers
wedding cards and Get Well cards, we get lots through the years
Cards that say I love you, and forever you’ll be mine
not sure about forever though, that’s a bloody long long time

With hearts and flowers, love and joy, and inspirational sayings
with Christmas trees and snowmen, and little children playing
Our Christmas list gets shorter, as years go one by one
and friends and family we have known, have moved away, or gone

Now everyone sends e-cards, or on Facebook leave their greetings
is so easy there, to leave, a message, short and fleeting
for friends we do not even know, and we have never met
a “like” for something you have said, the closest you will get

Mother’s Day and Father’s Day , and Anniversary tweeting
at least it lets us stay in touch, and send each other greeting
so whatever special day, this may be to you
I hope you will enjoy it, and all your wishes may come true
as all your friends and relatives, wish for you the best
and you are happy with this day, when you lay your head to rest.
