I Wish

I Wish

I wish I could write like Kipling
of battles fought and won
of how the British soldiers was treated
When his fighting days were done

How he gave his all for his country
fought bravely and with all his might
and when he was no longer needed
was left, with his devils to fight

Now we are in a different century
but some things have never changed
the soldier still has his devils
and the world he returned to feels strange.
