A Message For Mam

A Message for Mam

16 years ago today
the woman I loved, passed away
we had been together almost 60 years
now I was left in this veil of tears

Through all that time she had been there
with joy and hope, and loving care
to give me strength, and calm my fears
and guide me through the passing years

She was a woman of her time
many problems, and hills to climb
with strength to face it, come what may
and through it all, she led the way

She loved us, fed us, clothed us too
and always did what she had to do
and through the bad times, keep us calm
the love of my life, was my mam

And so to mam I say today
I know it was time to go away
I did not say it enough, it’s true
but my dear Mum. I still love you

       Look after Dad, and Elaine Mam
