Hi. I'm Anais Vionet. That's pronounced 'anA vEonA."    
I'm a Harvard University, Master of Public Health candidate
and I have a B.S. in Molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale.

I write poetry and vignettes. The vignettes—stories about my life—are my favorites.
I've been posting stuff for 6 years (more or less).
Once, a real, actual, famous, poet advised me to post my writings in 5 places, to establish copyright - so that's what I do.

I'll never be a great poet unless there is some great miracle (unlikely), but a bit of writing settles me down before hours of serious studying and relaxes my tiny brain after studying.
 
I was born in Paris but I'm a dual American/French citizen - I consider myself American.

Our home is in Athens Georgia, but we've lived in Paris (6th Arrondissement), London (Knightsbridge) and Shenzhen China (Luohu District).
I'm fluent in English, French and Cantonese—I'm fair with Mandarin and I manage to fumble around (I could order dinner, catch a cab and shop) in Italian, German and Dutch. 

Mom's an anesthesiologist and my Stepfather (I call him Step) an invasive cardiologist. They're an operating team. They have a regular medical practice and in addition to that, Step teaches invasive cardiology (heart surgery) and they work a lot with 'Doctors Without Borders.' 

I was born in Paris and we lived in Paris until I was in kindergarten, then we moved to Georgia. When I was in 1st grade my dad was killed by a drunk driver. My mom remarried two years later and we moved to the UK for my 3rd and 4th grades. Then we moved back to Paris for my 5th and 6th grades then to Shenzhen, China for my 7th and 8th grades. I started taking Cantonese lessons three years before we moved to China.

We came back to Georgia when I was a rising 9th grader, so I could have a 'normal' high school experience. As a reality check—to see where I needed fixing academically, I took the SAT and ACT tests.

I got a 2380 out of 2400 on the SAT and a 35 out of 36 on the ACT and I was offered scholarships to practically every university in the world. We toured several, like MIT, Harvard, Johns Hopkins and Yale—I liked Yale the best (everyone there was very friendly to my 14 year old self). They wanted me to skip high school but who wants to be THAT freak.

I have two siblings. And older sister, Annick, she's a surgeon in residence in Boston and an older brother Brice, he's at Johns Hopkins med-school. A bunch of showoffs.

I was supposed to be a concert pianist—not a doctor—I was pretty good, even competing internationally—but COVID killed THAT. Thanks COVID. I skipped 12th grade, fleeing to New Haven (YALE) to escape the COVID lockdown.
