This morning we jogged early I was back in my flat by six-thirty From my tenth floor view of the Charles River basin, The morning was incandescently flushed by the peach-colored sun. The transparent clouds seemed stylistically stained, artfully workshopped, which offered a softened, Tiffany glass effect wholly worthy of worship. I can’t stop to admire it. I’m jamming things into suitcases. Cramming things into boxes, giving things away. I had a second interview Monday afternoon, for Johns Hopkins med school. They put the question to me: “The semester starts in 18 days - can you do that?” “Yes,” I replied, and just like that, I'm a Blue Jay. Of course, I had to withdraw from the masters program but Harvard gave me a full (95K) refund - I think they’re more excited about my med school admission than I am. I’m not afraid of discordant notes. They change the landscape. Take us to new emotional places. Any major work is going to have them. . . A song for this: Hang on Little Tomato by Pink Martini It's Amazing by Jem

So have you been binge watching Grey's Anatomy and ER episodes and taking notes? I myself prefer real doctors like House over those pretty boy Dr Ross types anyday. Maybe that's just cos I can't suffer Clooney or maybe it's cos I just prefer misanthropes. I know I'm rambling but congrats on your chosen career and your POTD.

Dear Anais, Life’s in motion, boxes and suitcases and big decisions tumbling into the day, and you bring us right into that swirl. I really love the heart you show, not just in chasing your dream all the way to Johns Hopkins, but in embracing the “discordant notes.” Congrats on POTD and Good Luck on your new adventure. What is your ultimate goal for vocation? Blessings, Dear Anais, Daniel

<3 . Same thing happened to (son) Jake, almost. They asked him over lunch in Pittsburgh, how serious was he about going to CMU. He said if you accept me, I will ABSOLUTELY come here. He did have more time before he had to show up. Although I think if the UChicago called, he might have jumped ship. He was on the waitlist. Curious why Harvard was excited to see you go. They got a Med School too. (I was SO looking forward to the coffee.)

I think someone dropped out at JH and I was a last minute replacement. Harvard recognized med school is an upgrade from the MPH - I think they wish their students well. *shrug* Isn't there a joke about God laughing at our plans? =]

Ha! That goes towards Hopkins med-school costs (~130K?). My parents are off the hook from now on - education comes out of my bag from now on.
