To taking a break* I would bake you a cake* Just for old times sake* Two double layers of ache* And a filler of heartache* Topped off with a handshake* I think well of you, your make* And model of doubletake* Where you ride real not fake* And for myself a good take* There are so many keepsake* That you leave behind in your wake* Poetry that rock and shake* And one liners with intake* And combustion that quake* Where I see your vernacular at stake* By winds that howled of your retake* Still I'll miss you for Heaven's sake* And gracefully give you your cake* connie pachecho 3/13/20 I'll invite the readers to give SOS a sendoff. And or to make peace.

SOS has left for what's right. His poems. His style. His whimsical self all gone. Outside it's a beautiful day. But it feels gloomy. It seems like leaves on the tree have lost their color and are bare. Or is that my face? I'll always remember SOS hopscotching here and there, one step he is the prototypical poet ... the next a playful seal. He could bob words and one-liners like nobody else. I liked that. In my mind, I see a three-legged horse, beaten, holding his head high, holding the tears inside as he trotted away.

Yes, Son of Spock is now gone. I believe he will be back- and when he does, the world will be colorful again. I know he feels beaten, of course he does. He is a kind soul. I see that. Thank you Connie, for this blog and support. ~ Brandy

Connie, I'm a little late to the party, but thank you for posting this sendoff. I too will miss Mr. Spockson, he was one of the more colorful bay leaves in the soup, and had many thought-provoking comments. Miss you, Tommy - hope you land well, my friend. ~ John

Life will go on. Thankfully PS has a great group of poets, and people (including yourself), that I and others can look up to.

Why does someone always have to stir the soup? My mother always taught me, to make soup have more flavor, you have to let it simmer. Otherwise, the ingredients have no time to blend.

Thank you Daniel and you are right. Listening is the best thing to do. I see my mother everyday. My father too. They are my rock. My strength. You were speaking of your mom being a good cook. My mom cooks for everyone it seems. :) She is always giving to others.

If your mom is like my mom was then take my advice, always do what your mother says and when she is gone all of your memories of her will be happy ones. We all make mistakes in life, most of mine came from not listening to my mother.

I was hoping no one was stirring anything here. After first, I thought so. Now I see support, hope and peace. ~ Brandy

I was trying to stem the tide before it came ashore. It seemed to me that you were reopening a can of worms. As you well know, not everyone here was a fan of SOS. I'm not a fan of worms in my soup:) Metaphorically speaking.

I love wise sayings and people. But who is stirring the pot. Nothing that I wrote is cryptic. It' is straight forward, with the intent of wishing SOS well.

Connie, grab the mainsheet and hold tight, enjoy the journey until you come about as you must - in the meantime happy times and stay safe.

I look at happy times as being enhanced with pleasant sights, sounds, smells and especially with people I enjoy being around. I would jump out of the main stream and into a puddle to fight for what I believe.
