Quickly and Not Careful

Maybe you'll move on quickly, and that's ok. I won't even take part in your life anymore and that's ok. You won't love me anymore, and again, that's ok. There is nothing I can do about it. The only thing I know is that by the time you are going to be reaching skyscraper high mountains, and conquering new worlds, I'll still be drenched in this never ending ocean, deep as my thoughts in which I'll keep drowning until your fingerprint pattern is tattooed on my skin again. And Maybe one day I'll travel the universe and if I find a new planet I'll still name it after you. But that won't happen, because you are not coming back, and if you are I hope that by that time, you've learned that killing beautiful things isn't a hobby and as it's written in the rules of nature things finish and life ends so there can be a balance. Maybe that's why your love for me did, because somehow the universe decided that just one of us could be happy if we split, you were the lucky one.

That last line in your poem is one of beauty, a real gem. The poem may be a sad one, but it's well written and captivating. Welcome to PoetrySoup
