Premium MemberIt will come to you

I wish I could stir the passion in your heart
somehow wake your dormant Muse
make you see that beauty's everywhere
that you just need to stretch-reach out to it

I wish I could convince you to meet it half way
to step out of your comfort zone
and spend a bit of time in nature
you might discover that it's addictive

I wish I could inspire
stir what's waiting in your heart
my advice is give it time it's churning
until it will soon be effervescing

Premium MemberBlighted Statues

I can only live in a garden
where warped talons
of tiger tulip petals mar
unbroken lines of pastel shimmer,
not where silent cerulean lakes
float as though aloft
in frames of polished stone
to tell the cloudless sky,
I'm your offspring.
I smile for blighted statues
mocked by companies of peonies
effervescing in ballet
and the coarse tusk of St Augustine
thronged by emerald dichondra.
I have no business among wisteria's cornucopias
of lilac bounty nor the glee
of summer marigolds.
I tend thorny stalks
of a wild rose that never blooms
and climbing ferns whispering
in shaded corners of spring's
explosive allemande.
I feel only weight of gray misted mornings
when the dank of coming rain permeates
in pale foliage's stag line
where vines creep in distant communion,
ignored by harsh jonquil rays.

Great Escape

Gorgeous gracious gardens gaping
Riveting running rivers racing
Echoing effervescing enamoring endless
Adoring Angels accepting attendance
Towering tranquilising trees tremendous

Eloquent equilibrium euphoric exile
Surrendering silence sustaining smile
Comfortably calming content consciousness
Attracting acoustical ambiance autonomous
Pleasurable pensive pondering paradise
Exuberant ethereal eyes entice

Kingfisher

I sat down by the river bank

And watched the water flow,

The rapids effervescing

Meanders running slow,

Then past the corner of my eye

A flash of colour sped,

The kingfisher in his splendour

Hunts the river bed.

Premium MemberThe Orchid Moon and I

The orchid moon and I look in kind
at the dimpled ocean's
aubergine plain, meandering thought's
violet caves. I've lost my way
in the lavender vortex
of a tuberous begonia.

A July storm has passed.
Brackish petrichor lilts with the purr
of surf, now jade in lilac light,
unfolding on mulberry sand,
effervescing at my ankles,
gentle as cat fur.

This full moon buoys
out past merlot bluffs,
reposing on a mauve ribbon
between sea and plum sky;
periwinkle stars beg to spark
beside the aura of a steadfast satellite
that casts the grape of night
in fixed solitude.

Premium MemberWhereas

Savvy scientists scoff at the soul:
Can't poke it, prod it, pinch it, probe it
~ and clearly can't claim to contemplate...

an empirical, egg-headed, experimental
all-enveloping ecstasy of erudite exactitude
elegantly and eloquently embossed, embedded
~ in its entropy of effervescing exegesis.

Whereas

I know of no one -- nowhere -- nasty or normal
knock-kneed, neck-naped, nose-gnarled
neuron-nitpicked or nucleic-acid-nested

Who

denies indubitably or dubiously, definitely
or deafeningly--deranged, demented,
debauched or denatured -- the sacred
sanctuary unsullied, where sits, serene and
silent, the small, still sound of said soul

swilling, swelling, seeking, sailing, soaring---
sensitively, sensorily, yea sentimentally---

til he sees, then sighs, then seizes
so surreptitiously the serum of sentience

Within!

Premium MemberMidnight Romance

The molten stars in midnight sky proclaim
my rapture in obsidian set free
as raven foil in effervescing claim,
of smoky cirrus in moonlit decree,

that flowers beg upon my crimson thoughts
when saffron whispers in a charcoal pit
bring ash of roses in the remnants caught
by pasts of once cerulean remit.

I stir absinthe on onyx table top,
in porcelain the patio does glow,
my inhibitions in the sable drop
while shadows in the chartreuse gardens grow.

My ivory facade is now in flames;
this naked love for you the midnight claims.*

*This is a re-write of my free verse poem, Rapture in Obsidian, posted 6/4/17.
I've been wanting to re-write it for some time but only just today stumbled
on a way to do that.

Premium MemberA Short Thought On Long Days

a short thought on long days

april fool
fool me no more!
i have walked the borderlines of death
with a grey cat and a blond child,
neither of whom were acquainted to me.
my gift from that almost path,
clarity.

time flashes past me
as a comet breaching the sun
i can not grasp its effervescing tail;
too slow in thought and deed now
yet i see everything.
please take me with you!

I squirrel every thing that is precious
memories, sights and sounds especially
the chime of a child's laughter.
the scent, like incense, of a cedar forest
after an easy spring rain.
the rise of the lark, heaven to fading ears.

above all else,
my lover’s first tentative touch,
the warmth of breath thrills past my ear
carrying, I love you, on soft lips.

Premium MemberPorcelain Peacocks

Porcelain peacocks strut in starlit shower,
drifting as clouds on an emerald lawn.
Black Narcissus spindles in oxblood flower
in teeming beds before the coming dawn
of floating white as night would then be gone,

its smoky quills of porcupines receding
to a memory as effervescing
rays of morning glow would begin, preceding
butter sun with cumulus as dressing
in an azure sky and daylight's blessing.

Confetti Confessions

Proceeding further voids the non-existent warranty on your sanity remaining intact afterwards.

I feel like a shred of confetti
Anchored by cotton knotted
To a strong, steel chain
Fused with a great grain of pain
Cast in a vast castles grave
Of felled shells, long dead
Whose bones become my bed.

I really, really must confess
I use better bones for my bread
I really must confess
That bread is not the best.

I really feel like screaming
As my clenched cheeks cling
To a complicated thing
Effervescing
From my minds twisted guts
Into incontinent pants
I imagine I’m wearing.

I really, really must confess
My mind's become one mucked-up mess!
I really must confess
This mess does not smell the best.

I don’t sleep in sand beds
Or soil shorts made of thoughts
But my baking is to die for
So sign here before you taste
These sweet and sour soul cakes
Whose recipe of joy and dread
Imparts more bang than bone bread!

I really, really must confess
I love my minds mad caress
I really must confess
Its caress feels senseless.

I Rise and Fall

I rise and fall like spring tides
And soothing autumn winds
Like effervescing chemical solutions
And gliding butterfly wings
I rise and fall

Like aeroplanes departures and landing
And emblems on flagpoles standing
I rise and fall like ocean waves
And the landscape across the land
I rise and fall like someone’s hand

I rise and fall like the sun and moon
Like equinoxes and solstices
I rise and fall like speed on speedometers
I rise and fall like summer breezes
 And the temperature on thermometers

Tablet

Fierce little whirlwind
Swirling and folding, effervescing
Substance collision, a nucleus
Tiny fireworks rising then bursting
A globe in a bucket of acid
Being consumed, absorbed fully, watching
This miniature landscape burning up
Under the weight of its own sun
Dispersing completely, another world
In a glass of milky way

Firing Desire

Enduring love, an effervescing flame,
Through the open air, we transpire as one.
For all darkness could not, our light, reclaim,
Nor quell our longing, pervading passion.

As our wild love stirs and intensifies,
A wisp of smoke, gives a blissful ascent,
For our great love soars beyond the vast skies -
Quenching desires full of merriment.

Embers suspended in angelic pose,
Giving light that emanates our course.
Slowly flickering, to our ventured close -
Exit, fading to our once begun force.

Leaving, subdued tinder flame aspiring,
Their amorous souls once more are firing.
