Blood Honey

I will wear you like Jackie did
let you soak my hands
cradle you, soft & warm

The world wasn't made for us

In the Glow of Last Clocks

They gather beneath flickering neon,
in narrow alleys where the pavement remembers rain,
where glasses clink like distant thunder
and the air smells of sweat, stale tobacco, and old promises.

A woman’s laughter, cracked and sharp,
spills into the room like broken shards;
a man leans on the bar—his elbow’d sorrow
ordering another round, trading hours for oblivion.

The jukebox—wounded, nostalgic—
grinds out a song of ghosts and faded dreams.
Bartender’s hands shake between bottles
as shadows press against the windows, watchers wanting in.

Walls scribbled with names never spoken—
with hearts shattered, hopes pawned.
Outside, the city coughs, writhes in sleepless neon;
inside, time stands still, drunk and defiant.

We are all believers here—
in the altar of amber liquor,
the hymn of poured whiskey,
in the communion of husbands and strangers.

Midnight cracks open like a broken mirror—
edges sharp, reflection distorted.
Beer calls; gin beckons;
the bouncer counts bodies, not sins.

And when the music fades,
when the lights cut low—
they linger, some to forget, others to feel everything
in the hollow between heartbeats.

Premium Member Finding You

Climbing the highest mountain,
sailing through cyclonic seas,
battling the demons and dragons.
My spirit is begging to be free.

I spent half my life flaying at windmills,
later in the valley of despair,
I gave up many times with death in mind,
but I knew you were waiting somewhere.

Love led me to a verdant forest.
The light shimmered on a jeweled path.
Taking my hand and with bated breath,
I saw you and my sorrows passed.

Waiting for me with arms open wide,
with the light of love in your eyes.
Thawing my heart and my empty soul,
healing my wounds with your sighs.

I have waited a thousand years, it seems,
through a lifetime of sadness and pain.
I could hear your call, and I followed through.
My life has not been in vain.

Sadness is a pretty girl's game

Heart shaped glasses
Bottled sadness
The perfume of melancholia
Sold as aphrodisiac
Somewhere between
Smoke and rum
Between the sheets
All is fair
In love and
Other indoor sports

Permission to Stay

Tell you something
Something funny in it itself because
It doesn't sound to make sense.
I intentionally keep around you because
Deep down inside something tells me
"Someday it's going to have to be me to save you"
And I just want to be around you until that day
That's why I stay
Even when you turn a blind eye on me
Even when I pretend to be silent
I still want to be there
Be there around you
Even in the least possible ways that I can.

Premium Member A Poet's Plea

When secrets rest behind each moon,
between the lines of hidden tunes,
my hope is that you'll sing along
oh, singer of my heartfelt songs.

Envision what was born through you,
create romance with just one view.
Caress my mind with sultry songs,
nudge me when our morning dawns.

Reveal the treasures of your dreams,
enlighten all when daylight gleams.
Write melodies of nighttime's best,
all dreamers rise to vision's quest

Inspire tunes again to ring
in every newfound offering;
while nature plays our heart's designs
come dance with me between the lines.

As willows woo the windowpanes,
sounds of nature's slow refrain.
Please listen to all the silent screams,
those exclaimed in scribbled dreams.

Surrounding you are mystic hues,
please pay attention to the clues.
Come manifest your spirit's call,
then sense a silent feather's fall.

While angels sing and pick up flight,
share the whispers of our night.
As memories walk another mile
our dawn awakens the morning's smile.

Premium Member Loving You As Promised

Today I had to question myself,
Why it is im still in love with you.
You have made it quite clear,
You and I are over and through.

Holding on the way i am hurts me,
And you act as if you don't care.
I look at you withe tears in my eyes,
You look at me with an empty stare.

Does it even matter to you at all?
That i will forever be holding on.
Or that the love we once held
And our life we shared are gone.

You say you will never come home
And I need to grow used to being alone.
Understand each day since you left
This sadness inside me has grown.

Please do this one favor that I ask,
While you're living life remember me.
And be assured I'm still right here
Loving you as i promised I'd be.

I See Fire

Poem written on 14th September, 2025 for "Variation Of Dramatic Or Light Verse" Poetry Contest sponsored by Nette Onclaud
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A fire sparkles in your eyes,
its sparks shine on me.
Let it energize my life,
my soul needs its warmth.
Drown me in caring desire,
to crave only you.
Whatever the consequence,
trust in my credence.
My Love, Layla
Your eyes are oceans, of blue and grey
With your gaze, I’m swept away.
An endless sky, of wonder and peace,
I’d stare forever, and all problems would cease
Your hair like strands of golden hay,
Streaks of brown, on gold will lay.
As sunlight strikes, and lights your face,
I know I’ve found, my special place.
Your mind is wondrous, and full of dreams,
The wild and crazy, and dreams I’ve not seen.
How much I can’t wait, to follow with you,
And make your dreams, all come true.
Your smile so radiant, and full of care,
My eyes attract, I just want to stare.
Your smile could light, the darkest room,
To bring glowing warmth, to a void of gloom.
I love you Layla, and till my end I will,
When my heart grows old, and then turns still.
I’ll still love you, more than you’ll know,
As each day will pass, my love will grow.
We Left Home To Build Home
We left home behind,
hearts full of hope,
dreams draped on backs,
dust dancing on shoes,
the city ahead —
calling us forward.
Tall towers took time,
but so did costs.
Bread was a bill,
air wasn’t free
Even sleep stung —
priced in pressure of thoughts.
Coins clattered too soon,
pockets pressed dry.
We chased light,
found cold steel.
Time ate dreams,
tangled and true.
We counted months,
but gained grief.
Rain mocked us,
so did noise.
Home hung farther,
each city night.
Plans pooled into prayers,
hope huddled, thin.
We worked wide,
waged just peanuts —
enough to stay stuck
in survival’s spin.
Still, we hold
that first fire's flicker.
Not lost but paused,
not failed just finding.
We left home to build home.
Lost Days
Lost in the darkness
lusting for a way out
Lurking in the blackness
longing for the tunnel
Blinking at the vague emptiness
stirring the hollowness
scaring the shadows
Scattering the darkened clouds
surfing for a ray of hope
Roaring at my doubts
as l map my way home
Premium Member Strangers in the Night
In night's chance, my eyes found you,
and my heart saw love.
Since, my heart fantasizes
your heart had glanced back!'
Premium Member Propane Words
Blood lingers in everything that I am,
staining my desire with a feather quill.
I grew from apprentice to madame
with practice and sheer force of will.
You may ask what spell would allow
propane words unwavering and hot?
Embers tend to catch a bit faster now.
With pure intention don’t be concerned,
what is sent out will always be returned.
Witchcraft is a class with no cram,
just harm none and let the rede fulfill.
The black cauldron will burn any exam
that replaces knowledge with a kill.
So much simmers below a silent vow.
You never share all you were taught,
keep close just a bit of that know-how.
Make no mistake, my magic is earned.
Know this, I respect what I have learned.
