A Short Thought On Long Days

a short thought on long days april fool fool me no more! i have walked the borderlines of death with a grey cat and a blond child, neither of whom were acquainted to me. my gift from that almost path, clarity. time flashes past me as a comet breaching the sun i can not grasp its effervescing tail; too slow in thought and deed now yet i see everything. please take me with you! I squirrel every thing that is precious memories, sights and sounds especially the chime of a child's laughter. the scent, like incense, of a cedar forest after an easy spring rain. the rise of the lark, heaven to fading ears. above all else, my lover’s first tentative touch, the warmth of breath thrills past my ear carrying, I love you, on soft lips.

Beautiful poem that breaches the abstract with pensive thoughts. My compliments, Patricia!

The lines "i have walked the borderlines of death / with a grey cat and a blond child" are impressive. Just a touch quirky - which is what poetry should be.

I like how this reaches the senses. That cedar forest I can smell. Nice :)
